I started taking piano lessons when I was eight years old. At the time, it was an idle curiosity - just something new to try. That small decision planted the seed for a passion that grew larger and larger over the years. Piano lessons led to guitar lessons, drum lessons, and teaching myself music production. Classical music led to rock music, electronic music, and jazz. I eventually began trying to compose simple tunes on my own. Those little tunes paved the way for complex, full-scale compositions. I studied music privately for 10 years and then got a Bachelor’s degree in music composition and production from the University of Miami. Today, I get hired to compose music for movies, TV shows, video games, podcasts…you name it. I’ve written music on projects for DreamWorks Animation for the past several years. I perform around town, I produce music for other artists, and this year I have the tremendous fortune of working with the Bob Marley family to put on a series of exciting live concerts.
And through all of that, I teach. I teach people of all ages and backgrounds how to play music, and how to make it their own. I teach because I always remember that small, spontaneous decision that my parents and I made when I was eight - the decision that resulted in a passion which has driven me throughout all of my life. I work with students of all ages and backgrounds, helping them grow musically in the way that works for them. My hope is to be able to kindle that spark in as many others as I can, young and old.
I’ve been teaching music in the greater Los Angeles area for the past 6 years. I specialize in private lessons for piano, guitar, bass guitar, drums, music production, and composition. I’ve taught students of all ages and proficiency levels, and it’s been a profound joy to witness each individual’s musical journey. And now, I’d like to announce the grand opening of my very own Terrestrial Music Studios, off of Soledad Canyon Road in Santa Clarita, CA.
